Fisherman, Dad, Storyteller
Born and raised in Portland, OR, Ezra found his roots as someone willing to make poor decisions in search of a good adventure.
In high school, Ezra made headlines as a polarizing junior class president, famously sabotaging a talent contest and exposing a teacher’s inappropriate relationship, which serendipitously led to a role in a film with Angelina Jolie. College was no less eventful - he developed a passion for riding freight trains and even found himself abroad as a fugitive for several years before returning to the U.S.
With five years of college and no degree, Ezra ventured into the workforce - another sordid realm of wild adventures. Some were self-directed, like receiving life wisdom from a train-hopping wanderer named Preacher. Others came as surprises, such as an unexpected FBI interview or an intense encounter he had with a cougar who attacked his family dog. He also had enlightening experiences like learning to grow poppies from a Taliban refugee alongside some painful escapades including a fight club he started in Antarctica.
After settling down with a family in a small rural mountain town for 15 years, he started telling his remarkable life stories at the Gorge Speakeasy in Hood River OR in 2021 and quickly gained a local following. No longer hiding his wild past, he found catharsis in revealing himself.
Ezra now performs monthly at the Gorge Speakeasy, where this season he is sharing a captivating nine-part story titled "American Fugitive." He also headlines shows around the Columbia River Gorge and in Portland. His Credits include the RISK! Podcast, Jon Bennett Comedy Show, and Button Bridge Comedy Jamboree.
